On May 17, 2022, Takira Olivia Black, 31, a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend departed from this life to her eternal resting place.

Takira, also known as Kira, was born and raised in Norfolk, VA. She graduated from Salem High School and then in May 2017 she graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University where she received a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree.

After college she moved to Houston, Texas where she was a self-taught makeup artist and had a successful YouTube channel. She enjoyed going to concerts with her friends, traveling, singing, doing makeup, and spending time with family when she came home to visit.

Takira was preceded in death by her grandparents Joseph and Bessie Black, Leon and Estella Goss and her uncle Joseph Baron Black, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Cassandra Marshall (Tony); father, Quinton Goss; two sisters, Tashara Black and Quintrina Gallop; three brothers, James Davis, Shelton Gallop, and Damien Austin; five aunts, Brenda Black (late Thomas Carrington), Vivian Kilgore (Don), Constance Dozier (late Leon Dozier), Wanda Daniel (Anthony), and Winifred Goss; one uncle, Kirk Goss (Inger), 8 nieces, 11 nephews and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Kira will have a lasting memory in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May we all remember her bright smile, her laugh, and her kind heart. Our loss is heaven’s gain.
